The Danish language, dansk, is a North Germanic language (along with Swedish and Norwegian) and is is the national language of Denmark.
Around 6 million people speak Danish, principally in the state of Denmark but there are also quite a few communities scattered around the USA, Canada and Argentina that still speak Danish. Around 15-20% of the population in Greenland speak Danish.
