Denmark is a parliamentary, representative democracy and has a multi-party system with quite a large number of parties. The Constitutional Act of Denmark was first written in 1849.

The Danish Parliament is seated in Christiansborg Slot (nicknamed Borgen) which you find in central Copenhagen.

The Government is headed by the Prime Minister, Statsminister.
