The tickets you buy for public transport work across busses, trains and Metro, with the exception of regional trains.

Trains and Metro

Around the capital the train system is called S-Tog and are run by DSB. Trains going to other parts of the country are regional trains, Regionaltog and Intercity Tog.

The Metro in Copenhagen has fast and driverless trains going under and above ground.

The Bus System

The busses in the major cities are many and they come often. Get a map from a kiosk or trainstation to help you get around.

The public transport system is divided into zones. Therefore, when you buy a ticket you need to state how many zones you need.

If you don't know how many zones you need the bus driver or the sales assistent will be more than happy to help out.
