The Danes like to get together to hygge with family and friends.

There is no word to proper describe the concept of 'hygge'. What best describes it is cosy, nice, friendly, comfortable.

'Hygge' is very central in the Danes' life and especially around Christmas time it is all about the hygge. Usually, food is involved when the Danes hygger but more importantly is the feeling of cosiness, contentment and happiness.
